WHY IT’S ABSURD TO SCREENSHOT OR DOWNLOAD NFTs (AND WHY YOU DON’T NEED TO)
An argument that copying an NFT image isn’t the same as owning the NFT itself.
After NFTs got more popularity, people started to think "That is overneeded! I can take screenshot and use it freely. No need to pay thousands of dollars!" And it's perfectly normal and understandable for generations before Gen Z to say that. I understand them too, they think that NFTs are just an image because people are being told that this is what NFT is.
But NO! That's not true.
I want to give an example that tell that there's no need to take screenshot/download NFTs:
Let's say you went to the Louvre Museum, and you managed to stand out among thousands of people and finally take a picture of the Mona Lisa. Do you think this photo you took could be as valuable as the actual Mona Lisa?
Of course not. Because the actual Mona Lisa painting has a history and historical significance. Leonardo Da Vinci, who drew it, has 4 years of work in that painting. But anyone can snap the picture you took.
That's how valuable it is in NFTs. You can take a screenshot, anyone can take it, but only one person can own it.
Remember that in everything, what is rare is valuable.
In summary, screenshotting or downloading NFTs is useless. Even if you sell the copy of the NFT you downloaded, it will not be as valuable as the actual, and the actual owner of the NFT can even report you for copyright infringement.
