SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB S8: 1‑WEEK‑AFTER REVIEW

A 1‑week review of the Galaxy Tab S8 for studying, design, editing, and gaming.

TechOpinion

So it's been a week since I received the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8. During this time, I used Adobe Acrobat Reader for studying, Pixellab for graphic design and Adobe Premier Rush for video editing. I also did game tests with Call Of Duty Mobile, PUBG MOBILE, Brawl Stars, Minecraft and Fortnite. Of course, i also did a Geekbench test. So let me share my thoughts about this monster tablet.

Tab S8 in studying

Acrobat Reader is the app I use to study, because all my textbooks are there and I do my homeworks on there. Although it is an application that does not show the performance of the tablet much, there are many differences that I noticed even in this app when I switched from Tab S5e to Tab S8. First of all, of course, the 120hz display is pleasing to the eye when browsing PDFs. And also S Pen, I can admit that the S Pen feels so good that when I did the same test on the Tab S5e, I did 2 wrong answers, while on the Tab S8 I didn't do any wrong. What I want to say is that the S Pen is completely the best choice for studying, don't even think about the Apple Pencil. Don't worry about charging, it takes about 15-20 minutes to fully charge the S Pen.

Tab S8 in graphic design

I have been doing the graphic design since a year. I use PixelLab and the biggest thing I noticed when I made graphic design on Tab S8 is the save speed. While I can't save a 20000 x 20000 picture on the Tab S5e, I saved it in just 10 seconds on the Tab S8.

Tab S8 in video editing

It was something I thought would force the device, but I didn't even experience any lag or freezing. I have never seen a device that renders 4K 30FPS videos that fast. And yes, Adobe Premiere Rush is much better than CapCut and KineMaster, it would even be unfair to compare Kinemaster and CapCut with Adobe Premiere Rush. Especially when editing video in DeX mode by connecting a keyboard and mouse, it is no different from a laptop. I think this tablet will dne a great job in LumaFusion.

Tab S8 in gaming

Thanks do the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip and Adreno 730 GPU, this tablet doing a good job in gaming. But I was disappointed that I did not see the 90 FPS setting in PUBG MOBILE. But it does a good job in HDR and Extreme settings. But one thing sounded ridiculous, although the Tab S8's chipset and GPU are much better than the Tab S7+, there is no 90 FPS option in Fortnite. As if that weren't enough, laggs are so much in battle royale mode. I entered to some creators' rooms and had very little lags because there were usually 3-5 people in the rooms I entered. I don't think you'll have any problems while playing solo in creative mode.

Tab S8 Geekbench 5 score

I'm surprised at this point. Tab S8 got 1217 score point in single-cıre test and 3164 score point in multi-core test. Even the Galaxy S21 Ultra got 924 score point in single-core. That's sad that the Geekbench removed the Tab S8 series from Geekbench so in tests, the Tab S8 appears as "SM-X700" instead of "Samsung Galaxy Tab S8" on Geekbench 5

So in total, my rating for the Galaxy Tan S8 is: 8/10
