ME AND THE FUTURE

A personal story about discovering a passion for tech and dreaming of building a future in it.

Personal

Hello there! I'm Ömer Balkan. (a.k.a BLCNYY)

No classic toys have caught my attention since I was little. I been more interested in robotic toys. Each time I spent some time with these toys, I was tearing them apart, because I enjoyed interpreting how that toy was made by examining the wire-like accents of those toys. Of course, my mom was upset that I had torn it apart, She used to say "You won't be able to play with their again." One day, I dismantled the motors of a toy and built myself a night lamp. I was 5 years old. From that day on, everyone saw that I have an interest in tech.

I didn't have any friends until a certain age 'cause I couldn't go out because of my illness. For this, my family bought me a tablet and allowed me to play games and follow some events from there. I was introduced to the tablet at a very young age. I didn't like watching cartoons either. Therefore, the only device I could spend time with was the tablet.

I met English in primary school. It interested me a lot. For me, English meant expressing oneself in a different language, a different writing, and a different way. That's why I've made a close frelationship with English since primary school.

The date I truly discovered myself was November 3, 2017. Apple had a special event that day. There was a lot of rumors about it on the net. I brainstormed "What the heck is this event?" and waited until 8 PM. The live broadcast started. The world first recognized what is called a notched phone with the iPhone X that day. At the end of the event, i said "I have to look at this!"

A few weeks after the iPhone X arrived in Turkey, I went to an Apple Store. I shot a Turkish video describing the phone in my own way. I didn't publish it, but I realized that day that I enjoyed getting information about new devices and telling them to people.

After 1-2 years, I also got a good English. I decided to combine my English experience and device review experience, and after making this decision, I shot a video in which I both examined the iPhone 11 and explained the features of the device in English for testing in the first shopping mall I went to. Everyone who watched it has loved it. I thought I can improve on this too. After that day, I watched all tech events in the original language without a Turkish translator. And, yes, I has understanding exactly what it was saying. After that day, I shot English reviews of all tech

Currently, I'm writing articles in English on about both tech and world events. My future dream is to seriously publish my English articles about tech and going to USA somehow. I'm very interested in the tech developments there and my biggest dream is to start a tech company and design all kinds of devices to all kinds of budgets. Because I argue that everyone has the right to access the latest tech and the new age.

Another reason I want this is to play a big part in the tech events I watch and talk about new tech to the public.

The future'll be tech. If we consider today's world where everything is virtual, tech'll be as important as a water in about 10-20 years and individuals who don't know tech'll not be considered as individuals. Don't scream "I don't understand!" 'Cause we all need to have information about every field of tech. Crypto in particular, that's the money of the future, even if we don't accept, trust or use it.

Ha, as a final note, If you hear about a tech company called CONY in the future, you can say "I know the founder of this company!"
